LEAD: The Angeles Corporation said it expected to report a loss for the third quarter of about $3.9 million after taking a substantial charge related to the withdrawal of a public offering of a real estate limited partnership. The real estate and investment management company said it had cut back on employees who work on direct offerings of real estate to concentrate on raising money from institutional and investment banking sources.

USX said talks were continuing with bidders on other oil and gas assets.

LEAD: Bank One Texas, a subsidiary of the Banc One Corporation of Columbus, Ohio, assumed the deposits and certain other liabilities of the former First State Federal Savings Association in San Antonio. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Bank One assumed $287 million in deposits of First State Federal, which was closed on Friday by the Office of Thrift Supervision.
