Erik Ode (born Fritz Erik Signy Odemar, 6 November 1910 – 19 July 1983) was a German director and actor who was most famous for playing Kommissar Herbert Keller in the German television drama Der Kommissar (The Police Inspector). He married actress Hilde Volk in 1942. Many years later they co-starred together in the TV series Sun, Wine and Hard Nuts.

LONDON, Oct. 27 -- The funeral at Windsor yesterday of Queen Mary's brother, Prince Francis of Teck, was a simple but very impressive ceremony. The Prince was much beloved by all classes, and one of the mountain of wreaths in the Dean's Cloisters bore the inscription "The sick and poor have lost one of their best friends."

There was a better tone to the wheat market and a fairly good advance in price. The cables were firmer on the American improvement of Friday. The firmness of sport wheat abroad, lighter offerings from, the Argentine, with continued inquiry from the Continent, were reported. There was some bearish foreign crop news.

It would be difficult to imagine dealings more professional than those in yesterday's short session of the Stock Exchange. Following the sharp break in prices on Friday afternoon, the opportunity was presented to drive in speculators who sold the market short upon this apparent exhibition of weakness, and full advantage was taken of it.

LONDON, Nov. 5 -- Lewis Nixon sailed on the Lusitania to-day after an absence of five months, most of the time in South America, where he went as a United States delegate to the Pan-American conference and special Ambassador to the Chilean centenary. To THE NEW YORK TIMES correspondent lie expressed the hope that both the political parties would get together on matters affecting relations with South America, adding:

ALBANY, Nov. 6. -- The State Controller has made public a balance sheet showing the resources and liabilities of all the public funds of the State as at Oct. 31, 1910. This is the first statement of its kind that has ever been issued, and is the result of the work of the past year looking to the preparation of a modern and practical system of keeping the accounts of the State.
